"Still Around was inspired by the baffling result of an unfortunate
situation between a Young Lady age 15, and her sister's husband, as
the lyrics of verse 1 of the song states. It was then clear to me that
even with evidence, most of us are not willing to do what it takes to
affect change. We have become a people who express our concern and put
up a huge imaginary fight via Facebook status, or rants on twitter,
instead of actually taking action against our plights. We as a people
must look deep within ourselves, as Haile Selassie said, 'We must
become bigger than we have been. More courageous, greater in spirit,
larger in outlook. We must become members of a new race, overcoming
petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations, but to
our fellow men within the human community'. My People, Its time for
some action."-- A#keem
